Built to Passivhaus principles, Homestead is a modern family home with a distinctly Scandinavian feel – thanks in no small part to the VELFAC windows and doors featured throughout.
After raising her family in a Victorian townhouse in Ipswich, homeowner Fiona Coe was ready for a change. She and her husband, William, found the perfect countryside plot just 15 minutes from the town, giving them space to design and build their dream home.
“We have several friends who work in the building industry and they all recommended VELFAC to us,” says Fiona. “The slim frames and large openings were exactly what we wanted.”
Working with Nicholas Jacob Architects, Fiona’s vision was clear – a timeless, modern home inspired by Scandinavian design. The result is a bright, comfortable space where natural light floods in through expansive glazing. One of the standout features is the double-height library wall, made even more striking by the full-height VELFAC windows that frame garden views and create a real sense of calm.
Inside, warm timber frames complement the natural materials used throughout the home, while the exterior’s dark grey aluminium finish ties in beautifully with the zinc detailing.
Triple-glazed VELFAC 200 ENERGY windows not only look stunning but deliver impressive energy performance – helping to create a home that feels peaceful, draft-free, and easy to heat.
“The house feels calm, bright and so comfortable,” says Fiona. “It’s energy-efficient, beautiful, and a joy to live in.”
