Building your own home or deciding to extend or renovate an existing one is an exciting time, but it can also be a challenging one. A visit to ‘Build it Live’ at the Kent Event Centre on 4 and 5 February 2023 is a great place to start when looking for inspiration and expert advice to get your next project underway and create that dream home you never want to leave!
‘Build It Live’ is one of the UK’s most practical and focused self build exhibition, providing expert practical advice to self builders and renovators. The shows feature dozens of free daily demonstrations, seminars, and workshops. The free interactive talks are designed to help answer questions and give invaluable guidance. Topics include eco-friendly construction techniques and how to secure the right plot to build your dream home.
All self builds start with a hunt for the perfect plot. ‘Build It Live’ will feature ‘The Land Zone’ which incorporates Build It’s Plotbrowser.com, the UK’s free online plot finding service. This area gives visitors all they need to know about finding land across the UK along with a gallery of current available plots of land in the region plus the latest service-plot projects across the UK.
Each show will feature the ‘Naked House’ which is a first-fix cutaway home inspired by the choices made for Build It’s Self Build Education House. From ICF blockwork to doors and trusses, the Naked House gives you an unrivalled insight into what it takes to build your own home.
The Kent Show is the first of three shows taking place next year and the first show to take place since the recent merger of two of the UK’s best self build and renovation titles: Build It and SelfBuild & Design. The merger has also paved the way for ‘Build It Live’ to have an additional show in the South West alongside the existing shows in Kent and Oxfordshire.
Each of the three interactive ‘Build It Live’ shows will showcase 1000’s of products and provide easy access to 100’s of suppliers, many of whom will be showcasing the very latest in home and building technology. The free advice clinics and invaluable one-to-one sessions provide visitors with the opportunity to talk about their own project with Build It’s experts.
‘Build It Live’ in Kent will be offering a whole weekend of exciting self build inspiration at the Kent Event Centre on 4 and 5 February 2023 followed by a show at Bicester Heritage in Oxfordshire on 10 and 11 June 2023 and a final show at Westpoint Arena, Exeter on 9 and 10 September 2023.

Tickets are now on sale from the website. The standard ticket price will be £12 per person. Children under 16 are admitted free with an accompanying adult.
Open Saturday between 10am and 5pm and Sunday between 10am and 4.30pm. Tickets are valid on either day or can be used to attend on both days.
