It’s just over two weeks to go until the May edition of The National Self Build & Renovation Show, taking place from Friday 12th – Saturday 13th May at the The National Self Build & Renovation Centre in Swindon.

Build It Theatre – Self Build Fundamentals
Each day hear from the experts on the six key stages you need to consider when undertaking a self build project.
Stage 1 – 11:00 | Finance & Funding: This first session hosted by BuildStore is dedicated to methods of raising finance and the importance of setting a budget and controlling costs throughout the project.
Stage 2 – 12:00 | Finding Land: Finding a building plot is never easy, but there are ways and means to find that elusive dream plot.
Stage 3 – 13:00 | Planning Permission: Our Planning expert will explain the intricacies of the planning process and how you can optimise your chances of getting approval for your dream home.
Stage 4 – 14:00 | Design Principles: This session will look at how you can achieve the best design for your dream home, whether it’s finding a plan to suit your family’s changing needs or how you can maximise your plots potential!
Stage 5 – 14:45 | Building Control: We’ll explain about building control procedures and the importance of building regulations.
Stage 6 – 15:30 | VAT Reclaim: One of the joys of self-building is the option to claim a VAT refund! If you’re a DIY builder, building a new home or converting a non-residential building into a home you should qualify. We’ll discuss what you need to know.
New for May – NSBRC Surgeries: Live!
Following the success of the NSBRC’s Online Surgeries launched in 2020, there will be a 45 minute live surgery on each day of the show at 1pm.
