Graven Hill, one of the country’s most innovative self-build and custom build villages, is holding a ‘Self-build for All’ evening seminar on Wednesday 3 April. The event will give keen self-builders the opportunity to have their questions answered and learn more about this creative route to getting a new home.
The one-hour masterclass with architects and self-build experts will cover the key areas of the build process, from start to finish – including plots, funding, planning and build choices – helping to dispel myths that surround self-building.
Graven Hill itself is a pioneering housing development, located on the outskirts of Bicester in Oxfordshire. The development focuses on giving ordinary people the chance to create an extraordinary home, tailored to suit their personal needs. Alongside the self-build plots, Graven Hill also offers buyers the opportunity to purchase custom build new homes, enabling them to customise layouts and design.
Karen Curtin, managing director at Graven Hill said:
“We’re keen to provide budding self-builders with the information they need to get the ball rolling on their project. Over the course of the evening, our experts will explain all there is to know about self-building – from deciding on that all-important plot of land, to setting a budget for the works – and sticking to it!
“We appreciate that the information people are looking for can’t always be easily accessed, so we have arranged for a team of financial experts, architects, and self-build experts to strip back the jargon and get to the bare bones of self-building. By the end of the evening, we hope to have given people who dream of building their own home the tools and the confidence they need to take the next step towards creating their dream home.”
During this free one-hour seminar, industry experts will provide aspiring self-builders with the ultimate guide to making the house building dream a reality. Following the seminar there will also be an opportunity for attendees to ask individual questions about their own projects.
