Brits show entrepreneurial spirit to housebuilding

We’re a nation of entrepreneurs who are willing to take risks in business as we are to building our own homes and developing our own properties.

According to the latest visitor survey from the Homebuilding & Renovating Show, over one in four self-builders and home improvers, who have the motivation and the skills to create properties they want to live in, also run their own businesses.

The survey reveals that the entrepreneurial spirit of these business owners crosses over into their personal lives. Self-building and property development appeals to their innovative nature, allowing them to create homes that are different and set apart from the mainstream.

Jason Orme, property expert for the Homebuilding & Renovating Show, says, “The lifestyle and entrepreneurial nature of people who are driven and committed to setting up and running their own businesses inspires and motivates them to build and develop their own homes. As business owners and self-builders, they are fulfilled through the achievement of specific personal goals and are rewarded through the freedom, creativity and personal challenges that owning your own business and building and developing your own home can provide.”

For inspiration, advice and motivation in carrying out a self-build project and property renovation, the Homebuilding & Renovating Show will take place in London between 4 and 6 October at Excel. Over 360 national and local brands will introduce consumers to a wealth of products and services for any phase of their projects, and more than 45 free seminars and masterclasses will provide support and expertise on their topics of interest.
